For vehicles from 2017 onwards, the JLR Pathfinder software requires a live, authenticated connection to the TOPIx Cloud to perform almost all programming and security functions. The software files for new modules, security algorithms for key programming, and the latest diagnostic procedures are all stored on the cloud, not on the local machine. Our subscription and kit provide this essential online access.

VCI stands for Vehicle Communication Interface. It's the hardware device that physically connects your laptop to the car's OBD2 port. A genuine VCI (like the one from Bosch JLR) is built with high-quality components that ensure a stable, high-speed data connection. Cheap, cloned VCIs are notoriously unreliable and prone to dropping connection, which can be catastrophic during a programming session, potentially ‘bricking' an expensive module. We only use and supply genuine VCIs for this reason.

It's simple. You schedule a session with us. At the agreed time, you connect your laptop (with a stable internet connection) and your VCI to the vehicle. You then run a secure remote desktop application (like TeamViewer) and give us the access code. Our master technician then sees your screen and takes control of your mouse and keyboard. We use your hardware as a ‘passthru' to perform the complex programming or coding task for you using our expertise. You get to watch the whole process live. It's the perfect way to get expert help without the investment.

Yes. We operate as a legitimate independent workshop and our access to the JLR systems is fully authorized. We do not use or support illegal, cracked software. Our business model is based on providing legitimate access and expert support to the independent aftermarket.

In some cases, yes. However, we strongly recommend using the laptop we provide. JLR software is notoriously sensitive to the IT environment. Our laptops are specifically chosen and configured (OS version, drivers, other software, security settings) for maximum stability and performance with Pathfinder and SDD. Using a pre-configured machine eliminates a huge variable and ensures a more reliable system.
